Maggie Doolittle (she/her), Editor-in-Chief
Senior Maggie Doolittle has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten, racking up a total of 11 years in her troop. “I have continued [Girl Scouts] because I really like helping people,” Doolittle said.
In pursuit of her silver award, Doolittle co-founded and operated an after school program at local elementary school Camino Pablo to help younger students with their homework. In creating this peer tutoring program, she played learning games with the kids and helped students work through certain concept problems in their homework.
“I think that [the program] made older [elementary school] kids feel less afraid of middle school,” she said. “I know I was definitely afraid of the workload of middle school when I was in 5th grade, so I’m really glad to alleviate some of that stress for current students.”
In her spare time, Doolittle enjoys cheerleading, coaching gymnastics, and working with animals. As President of the Campolindo Poultry Club, Doolittle finds that “animals give [her] a way to connect with nature.”
