Amanda Young, Editor-in-Chief
Amanda Young, a senior at Campolindo, enjoys raising awareness for social justice issues and being active in her community.
She is an intern with Stop AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Hate, where she works to address Asian American discrimination, particularly in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
“I learned so much about the history of racism and injustice and how we can address that through advocacy and by standing in solidarity with other people of color,” said Young.
In addition, Young volunteers with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), where she advocates for other teens with allergies by writing blog posts, meeting with legislators, and participating in social media campaigns.
“I’ve had severe food allergies for my whole life, so I like that I can use my experiences to help other children and teens,” she said.
Young also enjoys diving, coaching gymnastics, working with children at her church, and creating content for her travel blog. This is her 4th year as a member of the The Claw staff.
