Kate Ginley, Opinion Editor
Kate Ginley is a sophomore and the opinion editor for La Puma. She writes her articles on her crazy life, including one piece on her grandmother, who is banned from 3 stores. Kate started her writing career in 6th grade. Before, she wasn’t interested in writing and reading. When the story she submitted to a contest only received Honorable Mention, Kate tried to improve. It paid off later when in 8th grade Kate placed first in the same contest, inspiring her to keep telling her stories. Kate is also the captain of the JV tennis team. Like her writing, Kate started tennis after being challenged by her uncle and cousin, vowing to one day beat them both in a tennis match. Her uncle, the 1992 Olympic tennis champion of South Africa, motivates Kate to keep on training and getting better to beat him. Kate cites her insane family as inspiration, but she may be the craziest of them all.
