Josie Doran (she/her), Staff Videographer
Senior Josie Doran loves listening and creating music, specifically pop, directing, and playing with her dog. Her mom is an important influence in her life, as she introduced her to music through listening and playing guitar. She has continued to play guitar since she was 12 years old.
She is from Ireland and visits her family there every summer. She likes to explore the culture and to see her family in Cork. The loose cultural barriers in Ireland have taught her about how big problems like racism are in America.
She hopes to go to film school at NYU close to her favorite restaurant, Tacombi. In 10 years, she sees herself as “a professional director with a documentary out.” She says that she “doesn’t want to be tied to a company” and would prefer to be independent.
Doran likes to spend time with her 14 year old dog, Maggie, and enjoys watching movies, her favorite being Old Hollywood. Her favorite director is Sofia Coppola and she aspires to be a great director like her.
