Foss Enjoys Ball Game Birthday

While neither the Giants nor the A’s made it to the playoffs in 2015, the bay area Major League squads still provided a healthy diversion for many over the summer months.

In early August Samuel Foss (17) and friends Josh Wolfram (17), Cole Cronk (17), Garrett Murphy (17), Spencer Spiering (17), and Nick Mediati (17) attended a Giants’ game at AT & T Park.

“It was my birthday celebration… [we] watched the game and walked around the stadium,” said Foss, a lifelong Giants fan, just like his parents. He and his friends dressed for the occasion, sporting orange and black. Together they witnessed a grand slam, a home run hit with all three bases occupied by baserunners, resulting in four runs, the most possible in one play. The Giants beat the Astros 3-1.

Of the Giant’s waterfront stadium, Foss said, “I’ve been to many games there, and this was the first time with friends and it was a lot of fun to have them all there,” Foss, Wolfran, Cronk, Murfy, Spiering, and Mediati all played baseball together in the 8th grade.

The Giants won three of the previous 5 World Series ( 2010, 2012, 2014).
