The new year marks the annual Campolindo Athletics Crab Feed Celebration, a fundraiser for Campo’s athletic booster programs. This feed gives money to programs that fund Campo’s sports as they rely on the finances from sport entry fees and fundraisers. While it is a fundraiser, the goal is to help build community between the different athletes and coaches.
This night of food, drinks, fun, and celebration allows for student athletes, families, and more to socialize and have fun. It gives thanks to the parents, coaches, and staff that constantly support Campo athletes.
All money raised by the feed goes to support the different Campo sports. The funds can be used to purchase sports equipment, branding, facility upgrades, maintenance, and travel costs. Besides the entry fee money to play, sports don’t get any more financial support.
The Campolindo Crab Feed was originally created by Campolindo Athletic Boosters, a parent run non-profit organization in collaboration with Campolindo. They help support all Campo sports programs via funding and organizing. They started the annual tradition in 2023 and currently the Crab Feed is in its 4th year. Athletic Boosters run the feed, staff, set ticket prices, and figure out logistics. They commit their time to setting up the feed and keep the tradition alive despite the hard work.
Student volunteers play an important role in the event. They can do anything from serving food to preparing tables. They help keep the expenses low and give more funding to the sports programs. Students benefit as well, earning volunteer hours and experience all the while giving back to the community.
The Campolindo Crab Feed is a casual and social event to raise money and enjoy food and beverages. However, the event is more than just the money raised. Coaches, parents, and athletes of different sports backgrounds come together and socialize as a community over the subject of supporting athletics. The Crab feed builds the community, making it stronger, closer, and more involved.
