Junior Indira Naylor has been writing for about 4 years, and it quickly became 1 of her favorite hobbies. When Naylor was a freshman, English teacher Chris McNevin inspired her to get more into writing.
Naylor said, “He did these assignments at the beginning of class where you’d have a certain amount of time to write, and you were just supposed to write as much as you can.”
Naylor also likes writing about complex topics and loves how writing allows 1 to express creativity.
Naylor’s favorite style of writing is poetry. She explained that she likes writing poetry because “[she] love[s] the style of writing that can be in any form and can be about any topic.”
Naylor's favorite place to write poetry is at home because she feels it is a “safe and comfortable place to express [her]self.”
Aside from writing, soccer is another 1 of Naylor’s interests. She has been playing for 10 years, but doesn’t plan on playing for Campo. However, she will play in college. Another interest of Naylor’s is archery which she has been doing for about 4 years. Lastly, Naylor enjoys reading. Her favorite things to read are mystery novels.
Naylor is taking Journalism for the 1st time and hopes to learn a lot from the class. “I hope to come up with my own ideas for stories and be able to make them interesting, make my word choice better, and make my general writing skills better,” said Naylor.
