New Zealand Trip Offers Science, Film Experience

This spring break Campolindo students will have the opportunity to travel to New Zealand.

Coordinated by video production teacher Justin Seligman, and hosted by educational tour company Explorica, the trip is not school sponsored.

The purposed of the trip is to film and produce a documentary on marine biology. According to Seligman, the trip is intended for students with an interest in marine biology and/or film production, though all Campolindo students are welcome.

Senior Auldin Pierce is excited about “experiencing a new part of the world” as well as exploring biological science through the trip.

Participants will do more than work on the documentary while on the trip, including visit areas of the country where The Lord of the Rings films were shot. “I am a mild Lord of the Rings fan, so seeing the hobbit town would be cool,” said Price.

While priority will be given to upperclassmen, Seligman urges students to speak to him before spots fill up, as he hopes to get 15 students to join and doesn’t foresee a shortage in spaces.
