Model UN Delegates Earn Distinction

The Model United Nations club attended the 27th annual Contra Costa County Model United Nations Conference, hosted by the CCOE (Contra Costa County Office of Education), on November 4-5 at Diablo Valley College.

In the Model UN club, students role-play as delegates to United Nations. According to the Model UN website their goal is, “educating, inspiring and mobilizing Americans to support the principles and vital work of the United Nations.”

14 schools attended the conference. Campolindo won the Exceptional Small Delegation Plaque.

Individual awards were also earned by seniors Hassan Taymuree, David Gomez Siu, juniors Lauren Sampson, Andrew Babson, Lauren Landry, and sophomore Lisa Kondrich.

Kondrich and Sampson, who both represented Mexico, won the Distinguished Delegate award. Babson and Taymuree, representing Israel, won the Exceptional Delegate award. Gomez Siu and Landry, representing Mexico and Kenya, respectively, also won the Exceptional Delegate award.
