Tangelo’s Frozen Yogurt will be the newest addition to a plethora of shops and restaurants in the Rheem Valley Shopping Center. Tangelo’s is coming to 384 Park Street in the shopping center between Sixto’s Hair Design and Lamorinda Pizza. It will occupy the retail space vacated by Curves for Women.
The proposition for a frozen yogurt shop was presented by May Lo on February 7th and is planned to be open for the public this summer. Lo is the founder of the Tangelo Frozen Yogurt brand and is also a Lamorinda local. According to Lo, Tangelo was created as a fun place to enjoy healthy frozen treats. “Tangelo is a new concept and if the Moraga store is successful, we will definitely proceed with expansion of the Tangelo brand,” said Lo.
Tangelo was designed to serve as a community gathering place as it will “make customers of all ages very happy while creating and enjoying their masterpiece yogurt concoction,” said Lo. The self-serve yogurt bar’s motto is “Your way, Every day.”
Sophomore Bailey Moran is excited for the addition of a self-serve yogurt place in Moraga. Moran said, “I’m happy there’s a yogurt place going in because it’ll be much closer, but I hope it’s good.”
This new fro-yo shop will be offering 30 rotating flavors, with 10 available daily. Each day there will be a “No Sugar Added” and “Dairy Free” option. The combinations are endless, as there are 35+ toppings, including fresh fruit, cereal, and cookies. Weight determines price, so customers are free to pile on as much or as little as they desire.
According to the application, Tangelo will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 7pm and Friday through Saturday from 9:30am – 10pm.
