The best time of the school year for many students is finally going on spring break. After three months of nonstop school and endless rain, spring break is the perfect time for students and teachers to relax, reset, and enjoy sunshine before the last push of the school year.
According to USA Today, the most popular spring break spot amongst students is Florida because of the warm climate and beaches. However, this year Campo students are traveling all over the country and even out of it for spring break. Freshman Ingrid O’Neil explains the trip that she took over break. “I went to Taiwan over break to visit my family. My favorite part of the trip was seeing my family and eating all of the amazing Taiwanese food.” Just like O’Neil, several other students also went to unique places out of the country for break. Senior Scarlett Campbell said, “I went to London and Paris to see my cousins who live in both countries. We got to tour all of the big sites, see so much interesting art in museums and on the streets, and eat so many delicious pastries and crepes.”
Many students also traveled to places within the U.S. to visit family and explore new places. Sophomore Saihba Virdi explained what she did on her trip: “I went to Florida to visit my grandparents. We ate lots of really good Indian food that my grandma cooked and we went on a lot of walks outside because it was really pretty, even though it was really hot.” Just like Virdi, Senior Taejin Chung also visited family over break but went to a place with a completely different climate than Florida. “I went to different parts of New York City like Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens to visit my sister who lives there. It was super fun because we walked around a lot, went to lots of museums, and went out to really good Korean, Greek, and Chinese restaurants,” he said.
Several students also traveled to places within California to visit colleges or enjoy a more local vacation. Senior Michael Ko traveled to Los Angeles to visit colleges. “I went with my family to visit colleges like UCLA and UC Riverside to see if I would be interested in going to them,” he said. Traveling just for fun, freshman Alaina Lawrence visited Carmel, California. “My family and I drove to Carmel for a quick two day trip over break, where we went to beaches and walked around the little town which was really cute,” Lawrence said.
Overall, Campo students had very interesting and exciting experiences over spring break. Students came back feeling relaxed, sunkissed, and ready to take on the last quarter of the school year.
