As the weather turns colder and the end of the year approaches, Campo students find themselves in the midst of the holiday spirit.
When asked what his favorite part of winter is, senior Malik Li replied, “It’s got to be the warm drinks honestly…that and Christmas.” Like Li, sophomore Evelyn Rayner‘s “favorite parts about winter [are] probably the holidays, like Christmas, and just being cozy and warm inside.”
Rayner elaborated on her favorite clothing trend for the holidays:“I am most looking forward to everyone wearing cute jackets…and I’m really looking forward to everyone wearing pajama pants because that’s really comfortable.” Li commented that he is most excited about “fleeces.”
When reflecting on his personal style, Li shared, “My style of clothing isn’t very suited for winter. If I had to choose a genre [to describe my style], I would say streetwear. I’m always wearing baggy jeans and some sort of graphic tee.”
Junior Duma Dawson describes his personal style as “simple…I like chains, and every once in a while I’ll wear a tie or a dress shirt just to mix it up with some modern aesthetic, like baggy jeans or a cool hoodie.”
Both Dawson and Rayner’s favorite article of clothing in the winter is a jacket. Rayner’s favorite winter-style article of clothing is “my mom’s old Abercrombie fur coat from the 2000s.” Dawson’s favorite piece of clothing to wear in the winter is “a navy puffer.” Li says in the winter he likes to wear layers.
Dawson said his most beloved winter trend is “ugly sweaters [and] Christmas stuff. I think it’s cool to just be in the spirit.”
All in all, Campo students are looking forward to jeans, jackets, and layers during the cold winter months. But most importantly, they are excited to be able to express themselves in the way in which they want to through thick, fashionable clothing, both old and new.
