Junior Prom and Senior Ball 2024 Styles

Junior Prom and Senior Ball are coming up as the end of the school year approaches. Many students have already planned or are in the process of planning and purchasing their outfits.

Junior Ellie Doane is excited for her prom. She is “looking forward to spending time with all [her] friends and [her] date.” Doane thinks the most popular brands this year are “Princess Polly” and “Lucy in the Sky”. Senior Carrie Zhang also thinks “Princess Polly” is the most bought brand.

Doane said, “[her] dress is from ‘Lucy in the Sky’…it’s short because seniors don’t let juniors wear long dresses…mine is black and has flower lace.” She also plans to wear “gold jewelry, rings, and the necklace [she] wears everyday.” To complete her look Doane will be styling her hair in curls with a half up.

Junior Mac Fisher hasn’t landed on a prom outfit yet but he thinks “the most popular shoes this year will be Nike Dunks and Jordans.”

Senior Paulo Trento also is still contemplating his fashion choices. He is considering “an American flag suit”. This would be complemented by “a slicked back hairstyle with gel,” Trento said. The trend of wearing Nike Dunks extends to the senior class and Trento believes, “those shoes will be most popular this year.”

Zhang and her friends are mostly thrifting their dresses this year. Zhang already has her dress from “Depop, it’s handmade from the UK. The dress is gold with silk on top and a long flowy skirt with sequins.” She will also wear “very thin gold high heels with some strappy action…[she’s] going to blow out [her] hair and choose gold jewelry to accentuate the dress.” Currently Zhang is debating on “wearing [her] usual simple face makeup with eyeliner and doing some sparkly gold makeup.”

It seems many seniors are planning on wearing heels for photos and transitioning into sneakers for the actual Ball event. Zhang feels, “it can be hard to stand around in heels for a long time and sneakers are more comfortable.”

The upperclassmen are looking forward to celebrating their accomplishments with friends by taking advantage of these unique highschool experiences. Many have enjoyed the creative process of putting together outfits and personalized fashion.
