La Puma’s Top Netflix Holiday Movies

The holidays this year are looking quite different than those of the past. Since we are staying in much more this winter season than previous ones, what better way to get into the holiday spirit than to put on some festive pajamas, grab some hot cocoa, and watch some holiday movies on Netflix?

La Puma has compiled a list of fun holiday movies available on Netflix right now for every type of movie watcher.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas. To kick off this list, we have a classic. This fun live-action 2000’s rendition of the Grinch, played by the famous comedy actor Jim Carrey, is a super family-friendly holiday movie that is just timeless. Based on the Dr. Seuss tale with the same name, this movie follows the iconic holiday villain, the Grinch, and his plan to ruin Christmas for all of the fictional town of Whoville. I am sure you all know how the rest of the story goes.

Get Santa. What happens when Santa Claus crashes his sleigh? Well, in this comedy movie, he does just that. This fun British movie follows an unfortunate Santa Claus, played by Jim Broadbent, crashing at a random family’s home. The star-studded cast and kid-friendly humor are sure to keep the whole family entertained throughout the entire movie. It is a super merry cute movie – what else would you want out of a holiday film?

Mariah Carey’s Merriest Christmas. Calling out the Mariah Carey and Christmas music lovers – this one is for you. In this fun 40-minute special, Carey sings many of her classic holiday songs and other iconic Christmas songs. Some celebrity guests also pop in here and there to add to this fun movie.

Christmas in the Heartland. This film is kind of like The Parent Trap meets a holiday movie. Identical twins (played by Sierra McCormick and Brighton Sharbino) meet on an airplane going to the same town. The girls decide to swap lives and places for the holiday season…what could possibly go wrong?

A Bad Mom’s Christmas. Starring Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn as moms who are struggling to host and plan Christmas for their kids as well as please their own judgy mothers, this fun, raunchy comedy is super funny and relatable for moms and daughters alike. This film is the sequel to the first original movie, Bad Moms, and is just as funny as the 1st.

Klaus. This cute, short 2D-animated film is certainly a break from the other movies on this list. It is super well animated and sweet, and just a feel-good movie. It follows Jasper, a failed postman, who heads to the North Pole and ends up meeting Santa Claus!

The Princess Switch. Any fans of Disney movies or The Princess Diaries will love this feel-good movie starring Vanessa Hudgens (who played Gabriella in High School Musical). Hudgens plays 2 identical women, one who is a dutchess of a made-up European kingdom, and one who is an ordinary woman from Chicago. They obviously switch places, and a love triangle starts.

Jingle Jangle. This movie, released early this November, is sure to cheer up anyone’s Christmas this holiday season. It follows a failed toymaker who gains back his confidence with a little help from his young granddaughter. The music and wardrobe in this movie are awesome and it is super fun for anyone to enjoy.

The Great British Baking Show: Holidays or Sugar Rush. Even though these 2 may not be movies, these fun T.V. shows will certainly get everyone in the holiday spirit (and craving some cake). Both shows follow bakers that compete against one another in a series of holiday-related baking challenges. There are many special guest judge appearances on the shows, as well as some fun surprises along the way.

The Christmas Chronicles. This film follows Santa Claus, played by Kurt Russell, and 2 children, Kate and Teddy, who end up helping him deliver presents for Christmas. With some twists and turns along the way, this movie is fun for everyone and is super heartfelt! The sequel also just came out on Netflix this November.
