Swim Faces Challenges in Meet Against Northgate
Campolindo went against Northgate in a swim meet on March 25. The cougars had great spirit during the meet and many swimmers were able to improve their times.
Junior Evan Velek said, “We had a great meet. It was a home meet, so we were used to the environment which is good, and all of us had a great time. There was lots of cheering going on and we won many individual events and relays.”
However, Campo did face many challenges during this meet as well because of the lack of swimmers. Junior Thomas Colpo said, “We were missing a few of our key swimmers due to the cold going around, so not everyone was there. It was challenging for us to get our relays together with many people missing. Northgate is known for having a really good swim team. They have a good program and very experienced swimmers, but I think that if we had more people we could’ve done better.”
The team plans on having more swimmers at the next meet. “Most of our swimmers are back after being sick, so we’ll do well at our next meet. With more swimmers going to the next meet we’re able to get our relays together,” said Colpo.
Even though the team was lacking swimmers, they still had a great spirit and swam very well.
