31 students attended the Yoga Academy on Wednesday, February 21. The Academy was planned in honor of the 17 student victims of the February 14 school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, and was hosted by P.E. teacher Chris Walsh.

Assembling on the field, Walsh and fellow P.E. teacher Allison Adams led students in laying out multi-colored yoga mats in the shape of a heart across the turf athletic field in Bob Wilson Stadium. Students filled the heart with 17 mats, intended to represent the fallen students, and stood in poses around the heart’s edges for a photograph to commemorate the memorial of the tragic event.
