Pride & Joy, a band from San Francisco, is set to perform at the Senior Ball next Saturday.

The band has been together more than 25 years. Bandleader Coleman Burke said, “There are 9 of us in the group – 4 singers and 5 players.”

Sandy Carver, one of the Ball planners, said, “They play everything from pop to soul, using their high energy music to draw people in and make them feel like they’re part of the performance.”  Burke added, “We specialize in soul dance music… Pride & Joy has been playing senior proms regularly for many years.”

“We chose Pride and Joy for the class of 2012 Senior Ball because they are an amazing, high energy, interactive, super fun band,” explained Carver.

Senior Annelise Ito said, “I’ve never heard of Pride and Joy. I had to google them to figure out who they were.” However, Pride & Joy has played for Campo events before, most recently in 2009.

Carver said, “We booked them three years in advance to make sure we could reserve them for our date.”

She also said, “I’ve personally seen them perform on several occasions. You have to experience it for yourself to fully understand the appeal.”
