Best moment: beating Acalanes
The boys varsity basketball season came to a close, but not without many victories. The team went through many ups and downs, but ended victorious in the long run. With an ending streak of 18-9, the team has shown their perseverance in dominating the field.
The team had many major accomplishments, starting the season off with nine victories, and had numerous highlights to look back on. Many members agree that their favorite moment was beating Acalanes, one of their main rivalry teams, by 20 points at the Dons own court. The team was favored to lose before the match, but fired up with ambition, crushed the other team to secure their win.
As much as the team started off strong, they faced many challenges during the season, such as a four game streak of losses. Junior Peyton Beld mentioned, “we had a long losing streak and we had to bounce back for league and I felt, for the most part ,we did that by beating Acalanes, beating Miramonte ,and Clayton Valley.” The team was fired up by the losses and had to change their mindsets to lock-in again.
Senior Rex Pastore mentioned the key to maintaining their success was the fact that, “everyone is pretty bought into the system, like we’re all pretty committed to the team and we all have good team chemistry. I think we just enjoy the process and playing with each other”.
The boys basketball team ended their season after the NCS loss, but had many successes to reflect on. With being third in the league during the regular season and tournament wins, the team shows overall triumph and domination.

Best Moment of the Season: Beating Miramonte
Campo girls basketball headed into NCS earlier this month with stronger-than-ever team chemistry and a confident roster. The season has held many highs for the team; beating Miramonte for the first time – and then again for their first DAL playoffs game – in over eight years was a particular highlight. Senior captain and four-year varsity point guard Raegan Shum emphasized this highlight while mentioning: “I hope that the team continues to work together and also stay focused on improving themselves as players while having fun throughout upcoming seasons.”
Shum’s teammate and fellow senior point guard, Ali McCauley, also mentioned that “Beating Miramonte was definitely special for our team, and I think that we’re better at passing and creating shots and improving our defense.” Both seniors emphasized that everyone on the team had improved skill-wise exponentially. Meanwhile, sophomore forward Jeevan Dhaliwal referred to the team’s San Diego tournament (in which they held a 2-1 record) as another highlight: “It helped us get better with playing with each other since a lot of us are returning from last year, and preparing to beat more teams next year.”
While the team lost their NCS second-round game to San Francisco University High School on February 22nd, every player has enjoyed every moment of the season, and returning players are excited to see where the next year takes them.

Best Moment of the Season: Beating Acalanes
The Campo boys soccer team recently ended their 2024-2025 season. The team finished their season with a number of memorable achievements, separating from past seasons. This year was marked as one to remember with benchmarked successes against competitive long time rivals such as Acalanes, Los Lomas, and Miramonte.
One factor which may have contributed to their wins was their experienced roster. With 13 seniors, the team had the advantage of long time experience to reach success.
Despite this, the season did not go without its challenges. Many of the boys shared that they faced a lull of success during the mid-season. “I think we have to bring back the intensity we had at the beginning of the season. We kind of wanted it more earlier on, and we got too content,” said senior and captain Sean Mungungshai when asked about lessons the team had learned throughout their season.
When asked about how the team planned to change the trajectory of these losses, captain and senior Carson Helder said, “[We want to] just keep together and not give up faith in each other while playing as hard as we can.
This change of tempo was notably found on the boys’ senior night, where the team won against Las Lomas 1-0 with a goal by Mungungshai.
While the team’s season ended on February 19th against the 3rd seed of the Division I bracket, Clayton Valley, the 2024-2025 brought the best success that the boys soccer program has seen in awhile. The program hopes to face continued success and progress in the upcoming season.

Best moment of the Season: tying with Acalanes and Miramonte
The girls soccer team has had a successful season with many wins and few losses. The girls have persevered and made it into the NCS, prepared to put their best foot forward. The team ended the season with twelve wins, six losses, and three ties. Their scores demonstrate the strength of the Campolindo girls soccer team.
Team members stated their favorite wins to be against their arch rivals, the Acalanes Dons and the Miramonte Matadors. Senior Evelyn Rigsby stated the key to maintaining their success was how the girls “really bonded early on [in the season ] as a team and so we’ve learned to trust each other and that trust came really early this year which was nice”. Their trust in one another allowed them to tie against their rivals.
As much as the girls have had many successes, the soccer team has also had difficult obstacles put upon them, but with determination, they were able to tackle them head on. The girls faced initial challenges with their formation, changing it midway through the season, allowing them to find success in their box and in the final third.
Although the season has come to an end, the girls have many good experiences to look back on and admire. The games allowed them to find growth, learn from mistakes and show their strengths when competing against other teams.

Best Moment from the Season: Going to NCS
The Campolindo Wrestling team ended their 2024-2025 season with many successful victories. They had many eventful tournaments, such as Goddess of Vine and NCS, allowing the wrestling team to show their strength. Though the Campolindo Wrestling team is small in size, they still show over and over again that they remain powerful.
Members of the wrestling team had to tackle their way through the many challenges that occurred this season.
While some thought the downfall for the season would be the injured captains, it all worked out in the end with the team working together to support one another.
The size of the team this year was limited, leaving members discouraged, but their key to maintaining the success was remembering why they initially signed up. Junior Patricia Davila Gil stated, “Sometimes when you’re in the thick of it and you have to do a hard cardio everyday and it’s just like hell and you’re like why am I doing this?”
Davila Gil’s statement resonated with many people not only in wrestling, but for all sports. She also reminded others why they should continue pursuing their passions. “You just have to remember you’re all here because you enjoy it, it’s not something you’re forced to do. You’re all here because you love to be around eachother, you love the atmosphere of the sport and the technique that comes with it,” said Davila Gil, inspiring herself and others.
