On November 16, the Campo girls volleyball team moved on to NCS Championships after winning league. They played Redwood High School and lost in three sets.
Junior Mia Walloch said, “I think it went great. I think we did really well in league, we only lost one game and ended up winning the whole thing and it was just really fun. We had a really good streak of sweeping a lot of teams which was super fun and exciting.”
Junior Cassidy Woo agreed, saying “I think it went well. It was kind of a rough start at the beginning with the whole Acalanes game, but I feel like we improved a lot and NCS really showed that especially because we made it to the finals.” Sophomore Clementine Damon- Espinas agreed, saying that she felt like the team came back well after losing against Acalanes.
When asked about how she felt about their place in NCS, Walloch said, “We got second in D1, so I’d say that’s pretty good. I’m very proud of how far the team went and how well we did.”
Sophomore Madeline Carpenter and Woo agreed, saying, “Of course I wish we got first, but it took a lot to get there in the end. I wish it was first and we didn’t play our best in the game either but the fact that we got to that position was really good.”
Damon-Espinas said, “I feel like we fought a lot and I’m really proud of us.”
The girls NCS season ended in them placing second and seeded in fourth. Carpenter, Damon-Espinas, Walloch, and Woo are happy with their spot in the finals.
