Boys’ Soccer Struggles Against Acalanes
Boys’ varsity soccer has started off the season with 0 wins, 2 losses, and a tie after the tough 1-0 loss to the Acalanes Dons on January 13. The team is working hard to improve and play better overall as a team for the remainder of the season.
Senior Aidan Paul said, “We played well, we fought hard… It was a rough game, I’m sad we couldn’t win but we played well… We could of had more scoring opportunities in the 1st half… we tried a new formation and we let up a goal with it but I think [overall] we played well in it.”
Junior Jack Alcalay said, “We lost 1-0 but we played really well, I think we could have moved the ball faster and played simple possession instead of just giving it away.”
Likewise, freshman Luc Narido said, “I think we played poorly… I think we should have played the game as if it was any other.”
The team is working hard to turn their season around and win more games. They are incredibly determined to try to have a shot at NCS and State.
Paul added that the team’s goal is “[to] turn the season around and try to get a win streak and hopefully win NCS and State.”
Boys’ soccer hopes that if they continue to work and practice hard, they will be able to complete their goals and bring back a trophy for the graduating seniors. “We are really hoping to make it to NCS for the seniors playing their last year,” Narido said.
