Mats Stomp JV Football

JV football wasn’t quite able to “stomp the Mats” on Friday.  In fact, the Cougars took the beating with a 42-21 loss to Miramonte on October 30.

“We came out with a pretty good edge to start the game,” said Coach TJ Meyersieck. “We moved the ball pretty well. But turnovers – just losing the ball to them – killed us in this game, and they had a little more of an edge to them. We were on our heels most of the game after that.”

Miramonte held the lead throughout the game.

Assistant coach Mark Deweese added, “We’ve got to find a way to use [the game] as a learning experience for these kids so they don’t make the same mistakes when they’re on varsity.”

The Cougars fell to 7-2. They have an away game against Acalanes to wrap up their season on Friday, November 6. “I think this loss will have the kids ready to go on Monday for Acalanes,” said Meyersieck. “[The team] will have a chip on their shoulder for it.”
