Girls’ volleyball defeated Albany in the NCS Semi-finals on November 20, in a close 5 set match, 23-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-23, 15-13.
The highlight of the match was Campolindo’s comeback in the 5th set. Down 7 points to 1, the Cougars managed to rally and win 15-13. Coach John Vuong said, “We didn’t give up, we stayed in there, we fought and we got it.”
After losing the first set, squad evened the score with a second set score of 25-15. At that point Campolindo had the momentum, but that quickly evaporated due to several mistakes. “We made too many errors in the beginning of the third game, and then we couldn’t get back to it, but the girls continued to fight,” said Vuong.
“I think we just lost focus a couple of times,” said sophomore Kenzie Brown. “We had to grind it out, and we pulled it off,” Brown added.
