As the final weeks of the spring semester come to a close, students race to accomplish all of their goals and ambitions before summer. While there may not be an abundance of time left in the school year, there is no shortage of activities. With AP tests, school work, sports practices, and more, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. In the blink of an eye, the graduating class of 2024 has gone from starting their freshman year on Zoom, to soaking up the last portion of their high school experience as seniors. When balancing the busy schedule of a typical Campo student, it is crucial to try to stay in the moment.
The article entitled “Seniors Navigate Stressful College Decision Process” highlights the journey entailed in mapping out college or university attendance. Seniors discussed the many determinants of making this choice, including weather, proximity to home, academics, and more. While some are pursuing a college education, many will set sail on other adventures after graduation. Regardless of what students’ plans are, it is clear that no decision was made without thoughtful consideration.
In addition to academics and athletics, many participate in clubs, jobs, volunteering, and other hobbies. Campo’s very own production of West Side Story debuted in March. Bringing together students and countless members of the community, the cast awed crowds by showcasing their talents. While for some this was their first musical of many, the seniors said their final goodbyes to the Campo stage.
With innumerable celebrations and ceremonies, there has been no lack of commemoration for the soon departing class. When looking back at the school year, it is easy to recall moments that will quickly become lifelong memories. “Campo Sports: A Year in Review” covers some of the high points in athletics over the past ten months. Ranging from varsity football beating top rivals to varsity track and field setting countless records, goals were met and surpassed. The many academic, athletic, and artistic accomplishments have created a noteworthy two semesters.
As another school year reaches its conclusion, there are some important things to remember, it is essential to stay connected to the present and cherish the here and now. So, to all the current and incoming students at Campo: try to enjoy your high school years (even the moments that may feel low), because before you know it, you’ll be walking the stage at graduation, ready to embark on your next chapter of life!
