Susie Fredrick is the new campus supervisor.
According to assistant principal Karen Findley, Fredrick monitors Campolindo during the school day, ensuring student safety and campus security. “She walks around the entire campus, including the parking lots,” Findley explained.
This is not Fredrick’s first position in the district. “I drove a school bus for 27 years. I drove for Acalanes Union High School district for 3 years. I also drove for a private company, just for field trips and sports,” she said.
According to Fredrick, she received several job offers from other schools in the district but her preference was to be at Campolindo. “I had choices, but this is where I wanted to be, and the kids are great up here,” she said.
According to sophomore Grady Eglin, Fredrick’s style is different from the previous campus supervisor, Jim Graves, who students and staff affectionately called “Hammer.”
“I would not say that I miss Hammer. It is a little different without him. I guess you feel that you are not as watched as much. Hammer was walking around the school,” Eglin said.
Findley believes that Fredrick has the right qualities to be a campus supervisor. “She is good with the students, a team player, works well with the staff, and has a positive outlook,” she said.
“I think she has done very well. I have worked with her at the football game, and the dance. I also work with her on a daily basis,” Findley added.
While some students might not immediately understand or appreciate the work of a campus supervisor, Fredrick plays a vital part in maintaining a healthy and safe campus. Evan Eglin acknowledged that keeping students accountable for the rules is important. “Students should not be walking on the boundaries of the school,” Eglin said.
