Both Treasurer Carolyn Madderra and Attendance Technician Maureen Messana have stepped down from their positions this fall. After 9 years at Campo, Madderra is going to work as an assistant to Steven France, the Coordinator for the Acalanes Center for Independent Study (ACIS). After 15 years at Campo, Messana retired September 28.
As the Finance Technician, Madderra handled all financial aspects of the Associate Student Body (ASB) including district funding, student body finance and accounting. Replacing her is Maria Schultz, the former Testing Technician at Miramonte High School.
Madderra said, “I have loved every minute. Working with the students and parents and outside organizations has been wonderful. But, it was time for a change and I am going to miss everyone.”
Her favorite part of working for Campo has been the students. “I will miss hearing and listening about the students and my TAs’ futures and colleges, their wonderful stories, and accomplishments. I’m also going to miss being able to purchase candy for the holidays, namely peppermint bark.”
According to Associate Principal Scott Biezad, both Madderra and Messana will be hard to replace. “Those two have been here for a long time and will be missed. Both have great senses of humor so they are really easy to work with,” he said.
Replacing Messana is Betsy Canty, who has been working under Messana since January. She said of Messana, “She’s a very sweet and generous person, and a very hard worker.” Vicki Prowznik has been helping Canty during the transition. Kathleen Cooper will take over Canty’s current position.
