Turner Fills Counseling Vacancy

Patrick Turner will serve as a temporary counselor from January 17 until May 3, while Campolindo veteran Jake Donohoe is away.  Prior to this stint at Campolindo Turner worked at Albany High School.

“My role at Albany high was a similar role as a school counselor. The most important piece of it is listening to the students and listening to their parents and making sure they are making the needs for the graduation requirements,” said Turner.

Donohoe said that Turner is a qualified and capable replacement and will server her students well. “They will get the awesome opportunity to get to know Patrick Turner, my replacement,” she said.

Donohoe is known for her often casual, sarcastic banter with students and staff.

“I don’t have the same style as [Donohoe], explained Turner, yet he is confident that he can meet the needs of the students in his charge. “I am there for them and always open [for] questions and concerns and I can always question [Donohoe] to get a better understanding of what they may need and be that counselor for them.”

For nest year’s incoming freshmen, their first counselor experience will be with Turner.

After his temporary position is completed at the end of the spring semester, Turner will likely return to his own schooling. “I will probably be continuing my education at the University of San Francisco [focusing on] my Masters in counseling and Psychology,” he explained.
