Girl’s Varsity Tennis Closes Season with Senior Night Celebration

Senior Emma Bonardi plays a doubles match.

Girls’ varsity tennis celebrated their graduating seniors on October 19 prior to their final home game of the season.

Varsity ended their regular season with an impressive record of 10-1, which made the celebration that much more exceptional. Senior Varsity Captain Francesca Restrepo said, “I’m most proud of our senior night match because we played the top singles players from Northgate and won.”

Ending the season with a great match made senior night more memorable and a fun experience, as the team had 2 things to celebrate: their amazing seniors and an amazing final game.

“Our seniors were what made us have such a great season. They pushed us to be our best and play our hardest,” said sophomore varsity tennis player Caroline Obsitnik.

The seniors this year are proud of the team’s performance this season and have even gone as far to say that this was their best season yet. Senior varsity captain Emma Bonardi said, “This season is definitely my favorite year of tennis I have played so far. I think our team had really good energy this year and everyone was always excited to be at practices, and match-wise we did really well.”

Senior night is 1 of the most important nights for seniors to be celebrated and to say a final goodbye to their season and the Campo team. Obsitnik said, “Senior nights are when we recognize the seniors and how far they have come. It honestly just shows our appreciation for them.”

The team’s last home game that night was a major success with a final score of 8-1. Bonardi said, “That [game] was really good and exciting. The parents were super helpful and I think everyone just wanted to go out strong, so we all tried our hardest and stayed very positive.”
