Boys’ Polo Sinks Spartans

Boys’ water polo defeated De La Salle 10-5 on Thursday, October 29.

Though unable to earn possession of the ball in the 1st period sprint, the Cougars managed to score 3 goals; 2 by senior captain Cole Stevens and 1 by freshman Giorgio Alessandria. Senior Goalie Nikhil Suri blocked 9 out of 9 shots on goal. The 1st period ended with a 3-0 advantage for the Cougars.

Again failing to win the sprint, the boys nevertheless scored 3 more time in the 2nd period. Senior Cullen Jacuzzi, junior Nick Thompson, and sophomore Nick Schroeder all found the net, putting the team up 6-1.

Stevens won the sprint at the beginning of the 3rd period, and went on to score twice, while Suri blocked 2 out of 4 shots.  The period ended with an 8-2 advantage for the Cougars.

The final period began with De La Salle winning the sprint once moreJunior Daniel Gong scored a goal while Suri blocked 3 out of 5 shots.
