Girls’ varsity volleyball beat Acalanes on Wednesday, dominating the Dons in all 3 sets.

Campolindo won 25-15 in the first set. They held the lead the entire contest, scoring the first 8 points.

Down 22-8 in the second set, the Cougars roared back to win 28-26. “The good and bad parts were in the second game. The bad part was we let them catch up and get a large lead. The good thing was that we didn’t give up. We came back and we kept fighting,” said head coach Dave Chen.

Junior captain Sabrina Smith, senior Maddie Koelzer, and senior captain Kirsten Sibley all had dramatic kills in the comeback effort.

Campolindo won convincingly 25-9 in the 3rd set to close out the match.

Chen said, “We knew we had to bring our A game because we only have one loss [this season], so that was a must.”
