When she was 4 years old, Claire Birdsey was enrolled in her first dance class and has been hooked ever since. Dancing at CAPA in Moraga since 2017, she loves the environment of the studio and the friends with which she is able to perform. “Everybody’s really supportive and we work together as a team. It’s a great environment," she said.

The pandemic had a pronounced impact on the dancing industry as a whole, and CAPA was not spared. From ballet lessons on Zoom to sporadic sessions in-studio, it was a difficult year. “It made me realize how much I took for granted and how important everything is now.” Now that she is able to be with her friends in the studio again, Claire is looking forward to new opportunities and performances with her dance friends.

A Gemini, Claire loves to read and hang out with friends and family in her free time. As a freshman at Campolindo, Claire is excited to contribute to The Claw and become involved in the school community.
